Are there 2 versions of Godspell/Turn Back O'man...becuz I have to write a synopsis of Turn Back O'man. The problem is that my teachers r telling me about how the song is suppose to be about seduction or somthing similiar...but all of the synopsis I find talk about Jesus and how the song's about repenting from bad ways...what 2 do waht 2 do?

There's only one version, but it's all about presentation. The lyrics by themselves aren't seductive: Turn back, o man / Forswear thy foolish ways / Old now is earth / And none may count her days (etc.). But I saw it first run in Chicago back around 1974, and the singer came out into the audience and performed it seductively, sitting on guys' laps, running her finger down their arms, etc.

Unfortunately I don't have the original sheet music with me anymore. I could look at it and see what it had for that song. If it is at my Mom's, I'll come back and let you know.

I was going to take my kids to see Godspell at a local theater last year but found out that the whole thing had been 'updated' in the last 30+ years, play and music. So there may be 2 versions of "Turn Back O'Man.." The original play was sometime around either late 60's early 70's because I had the sheet music around '73 or '74. I have not seen the 'updated' version of the play or music.
