Actually some people have a different ph balance and that is why there body stinks. Chances are this person already nows, I would just say this.
Friends name If I smelled bad or had a bugger in my nose, or I had started my period and did not realize it, I would like for you to tell me so that I can fix the problem, I was wondering if I have that sort of relationship with you. I don't want to hurt your feelings but I care about you and I would like to help you fix the problem. Then if they say yes, just tell them that they have a bit of an issue with the armpit, and then tell them to use degree for their gender that that should help them out.
This may are may not hurt their feelings, but it really is better for them if you go on and tell them.

when you go shopping together recomend some perfume and tell them it would make them smell good or buy some deodorent and say here you can hae this i didn't realize i had so much deoderant why dont you try some on and see how you like it. Or just say I don't want to offend you but you have an unpleasnt odor problem and i would appreciate it if you wore some more deoderant.

Well...usually the roundabout ways like, spraying deodorant around them don't work...so it might be better just to say it out flat

this one is hard, I have been through this, and to be honest, my friend told me she was not mad or angry because I told her (gently of course) but in time our relationship went down hill, and she never fixed the problem.

interesting...i really offended a guy who was a friend of mine saying his feet smelled...its best to tell his mom and let his mom tell him.
