I'm not sure about this election because I know that many people out there will only vote for him because he's African American. On the other hand he did win the IL senatorship by a HUGE lead, agianst some guy that isn't FROM IL so I don't know. What do you guys think?

If you really think the Democratic Party is gonna let an African American be President you don't know them very well.
Keep in mind, the highest Office an African American has ever held were both appointed by Republicans. They are Colin Powell, Clarence Thomas, and Condoleeza Rice.
And before anyone starts spouting off Black Senators, I realize they do exhist. But I am talking about Cabinet Positions and the Supreme Court where they have the most influence.

A Democrat winning in Illinois is no big deal, especially as George Ryan has screwed the Republican Party up so badly in that state that it will be 20 years before a Republican will be elected dog catcher in Illinois.

No, he's not the right choice. Even more liberal than Hillary (if that's possible).

Okay let's forget that Obama is black...that's obvious. I think it's about time we put someone new in the chair. If you don't know where he stands on the issues, it's because you haven't bothered to ask. Besides, what did John F. Kennedy accomplish before he was President? Where did he stand on the issues?

I have seen this on this site so many times I am sick of it, I personally wouldn't want that Muslim druggie to be a dog catcher, so why do you keep his name in front of us do you think that will make him more acceptable in 2008 ?

I think it is too early to tell, however I am real impressed by him, he seems to have both feet planted firmly on the ground and his head in the right place. He very well could win it all in 08

I am sure enough for us both. He is not the right one for this or any other election. Both parties can do better.
