I am so glad you asked this question. I've been wondering this myself.
Last year I've seen a big slump, when I lost most contact with friends and family and wanted to give up completely. I was lying and doing many things to harm myself. I don't know what had gotten into me until I listened to one song by an artist known as Bright Eyes.
I'd like to say that the song I listened to that day, and his music has changed the direction I was going in.
Of course, there are other things to take in hand...but I could have ended up somewhere terrible if it weren't for that one day and that one song. I'm glad for it. I've learned so many people are going through such terrible things, when I have it all so great, and that I have the power to change those things.
I don't regret anything that I have done in the past anymore...I am just happy that day came along when a lot of things changed so much because of a song, and because of music. I can't even tell you how much, and I am just blabbing on right now. Simply, Bright Eyes has let me see the world in a different light; a more beautiful, deeper one.
Who ever knew a person you have never met can change your life completely?

Just recently myself. I used to be depressed and just want to die, but then I decided that I have control over that. That only me and nobody else can change that. Now I take care of myself, and realize what a good person I am and how precious everyone is, including me. So to answer your question I have opened my own eyes to see the world in a different light.

The 1st soldier I adopted thru "adoptaplatoon.org." He was my best friend for the 4 months we knew each other. He opened my eyes to a different world I had never known before and I am so grateful.
