I have had back pain, stomach cramping, hair growth and darkening, difficulty losing weight, acne, sore hips and butt, and more occuring to me off and on over the last three to six years. What is going on? Doctors can't explain it, am I having symptoms of both the Mirena and PCOS or is one making the other more unbearable?

I have never heard of Mirena but you do have the classic symptoms of PCOS. I have had good luck on a loq carb diet with whey protien and soy products. I cut out all transfat. Well most you know every once in a great while. Diet has so much to do with PCOS. Also excercise is key as you will control your insulin resistance better too. I do good on the Soy protien but I could never eat like a bunch of protein animal all the time I don't do well on the atkins. I do more of a food combining. Like if I have 12 carbs I make sure they are good carbs and not white flour, rice or sugar, whole grain or wheat flur. You would be so surprised how much better you feel. More even tempered. Also lots of veggies. You can reverse it and control this.
