I'm turning 21 on the 23rd and I need some fun birthday party ideas that DO NOT involve alcohol. I'm not interested in drinking and neither are my party guests (many are under age).
Three separate parties are being planned. (Two family and one friends)
Also, I would love some suggestions on anything you all think are cool gagets or items that I should add to my birthday list.
I appreciate everyone's input and I'm very prompt in choosing a Best Answer. ; )

Have a themed party at home. You could look on foodnetwork.com for simple recipies like finger foods. Then do all the decorating to make it a big event. Get your friends to help, since you are the bday girl! You could even play a board game like Taboo! Split up into teams and it is sure to be fun. People may act like it's a kiddie thing...but trust me it is always fun!!!
Have seperate areas, too. You could have a dance area in one room, and games in another. Decorate the yard with tons of white christmas lights for a magical effect. Then, guests can wonder outside, too.
Congrats for not drinking! I never understood why people would want to get drunk and not remember their 21st anyway! Have fun!!

I know it sounds weird. But 21 is like the sign of becoming an adult. Well... how about some meditating? Thinking about the pasts and the future? Ask your close friends who really know you inside and out to list all the strong points and the weak points you have. (Don't be offended by what they'll write! You are an adult. Remember that! An adult (a real adult) will appreciate whatever her/his friends are telling to help her to be a better person) And you use that to meditate. Make sure you plan to improve your strong points and get rid of your weak points (or bad attitude or bad behavior) Plan the future! Plan to change the way you live so that your future can be seen as a brighter future than now. Do the whole day to think and plan and think and plan. No friends phone calling! No cell phone! May be you need to read internet to search and surf only for planning your future! And start to get serious! You can do the other fun activities the next day, but mark the DAY with more serious attitude.

I wish I could give you some party ideas, but I haven't had a birthday party since I was 8. If you like a movie try to make your party based on the movie like Grease or Pirates of the Caribbean something like that just for you and your friends.
Gifts:DS or a PSP if your a gamer. How about a new phone or a camera or a new I-Pod or a new lap top.
I just would like to tell you that I think that you don't want to drink is cool. I don't care what some other people said on their answers. I'm in my 30's and I have never had a drink of alcohol I don't need it to have fun.

You could have an old school cocktail party with plates of finger food appitizers and the little cocktail dresses. You could serve vergin cocktails or just some juice and soda in cocktail glasses. For the family party you could have a dinner if threre aren't too many people.

Try to perform some music with an instrument you never played before in front of the crowd..
or..invite a band from your college to perform at your birthday :)

It's funny that you ask this because i had my 22nd birthday party at Chucky Cheese. I know it's a kids place but i had tons of fun and so did everyone else.

21 ... big big occasion ... i would go to las vegas lol ... if you dont wanna spend that much money ... maybe a casino theme party? go to a club [dont need alcohol, but the age is cheaper to get in then being 18]?

Do something that you enjoy doing. For example, go to a spa, movies, or shopping with your best friends.
Birthday list: Ipod, cell phone, etc.

Ok buy some Vodka, Whisky, Tequila and you know beside that you need some dirty woman for the male guests. So yeah some baloons and party stuff. Also you can hire a male streeper. you know for your eyes to be feasted... and SEX SEX SEX A LOTTA SEX!! Yeahh baby Happy birth day

No alcohol involved in a 21st B-day party? sounds like a BOOORRRINNNGGGG party... maybe you could play pin the tail on the donkey or something.
