Not much, but it depends on the people. I've just noticed recently that some people are pretty bad listeners. I even encounter that on this website when people don't read or remember the whole question before answering it and end up giving an answer with the wrong facts.

Hello
Now this is a very interesting question indeed.
Why are people trying to put numbers and figures on it? , when really it is a very subjective matter.
For example if I was talking to you about Shakespeare (and you knew his works very well too) you could be described as IDENTIFYING with the matter I am talking about and maybe also understand it. BUTwhat you think of it and what I think of it could be too different opinions and it may come to a point where you dont understand what I am saying.
Also if people are speaking in different languages you may not understand them on that level but you may understand their body language (an argument is an argument whichever language you speak in !!!)
Plus I think it depends on how you communicate for example I could be giving you instruction on how to drive to a certai place and you may nt undertsand me till I draw you a map or show you my self!
Anyway I dont know if that answered your question!
Is it for a psychology essay you are doing? Sorry just curious
Hugs
Fizzy

When training troops during my career in the Army I always tried to make every word understood because their training could mean life or death in combat, and I feel that most of what I said and did was really understood. Now that I am getting up in years, I doubt that no more than half of what I say is really understood..

It depends on what group of people I am talking to,people I work with understand me because of the type of communication we have... Clients do not always understand me becauseof their limited knowledge of my work. They depend on my knowledge and experience .
When I am with peers or others ,I believe that I am "really 'understood " 80% of the time..

About 50%.
If you say things that people don't want to think about, especially SOME Americans, they just react emotionally without thinking or listening.
Much of the time though, people just don't listen to each other.

That all depends who you talk to and when!
Maybe 40-50% I think because people are busier and busier and don't usually bother to listen (and then they wonder why nobody told them something pertinent they missed)

sometimes not much. i feel like people bring their own baggage to the table. some people even become offended when there is little there to be offended by. sometimes people read my questions completely wrong. its weird. good question.
