like a step by step begginers guide to how to play tabs? not just tabs themselves. im just starting to play, and people have told me it is easiest to play tabs, but i dont know how, and really want to learn.

If you've never touched a guitar before yes tabs can be confusing.
I don't know where to go to have it explained so I'll do what I can myself.
When you get the tab the letters on the right show you what to tune your guitar to. Typically it's EAD?E forgot the ? one sorry. Anyway it'll tell you. The lines represent the strings and the numbers on the lines represent the fret. So for instance
E ------(2)----(2)---(2)----(2) would mean hold the E string (in typical set up your fattest string) down on the second fret.
Fret Explanation (skip if you know): on the neck of the guitar you have those little bars which represent a fret. The second fret would be the one ABOVE (towards the head of the guitar) the second metal bar.
Some of it involves knowing how to read music as far as time and measures and such I wont get into it here though.
In any case when you see that (2) that means to pluck the string it's on at the point in which the 2 appears while holding down the E string on the second fret.
