Vick's vapor rub--put a small dab under your nose, it may feel very hot or cold and your nose may burn a little, but it will clear out your nasal passages. Also, you can lean over a steaming hot bowl of water and breathe through your nose and mouth till your nose clears out. There are many over-the-counter nasal sprays you can try also,. just do not use more than you have to because using sparays too often will eventually cause your nose to stuff up more. Eat food rich in vitamin C or suck on Vitamin C drops, they help heal a cold, and the stuffy nose. Drink plenty of hot liquids, it will thin out the mucus and get it cleared out better.

Hope this helps.

I have heard of a few good remedies for a stuffy nose. One, which may not be pleasant, but from what I have heard from friends, works, is squeezing out the juice from an aloe plant, and dropping it into your nostrils with one of those medicine droppers...sounds gross, but works.

Another good remedy is taking a hot, steamy shower. The steam helps to clear your sinuses, and will relieve you temporarily. You may also want to try a vapor rub, or a humidifier.

If your nose gets too stuffy to breathe when you sleep, try piling up some pillows (two usually is good) and sleeping elevated, rather than regularly (when you have a stuffy nose, and you do not elevate your head, the sinuses clog up much more).

Finally, if all else fails, take an over the counter medicine, or go to a doctor.

I hope I helped,

If you don't have a humidifier, then I suggest you get one (especially during the winter season). It helps me unclog my stuffy nose. If you don't have on, then boil some hot water and sit under it to inhale the steam. Add some Vicks vaporub or mint as well. Also, drink a lot of warm fluids (tea, chicken soup, etc) and take hot showers, it helps decongest the phlegm, as well. BTW use decongestant nose sprays sparingly. Your nose will become dependent on the stuff and it will eventually lose it's effectiveness. The saline spray can be used all the time, though.

Spicy food works as well. When you eat a hot chili pepper it causes a reflex in your nose to make it run.

Encase your mattress and pillow with airtight material like polythene. Do wet mopping of the room. Close windows during night. Take foods such as mango, papaya, amla, orange, lime, milk and milk products.
Do take steam inhalation regularly
Home remedies are take a teaspoon of black cumin seed tied in a thin muslin cloth and to be inhaled to get relief. Carrot juice taken separately or in combination with juices of beet root and cucumber or with spinach juice is beneficial.

Try this..its really good,it worked for many people...hope will work for you toooo.all the best

I've recently had heart trouble so any cold, sinus or flu remedies are not allowed. this is what my Dr. said.
Tilt back your head and pour a light saline solution up each nostril. hold it in your nasal cavities for at least 30 sec. the longer the better. this flushes the sinus cavities.
Tried it and works great, a little messy though.

I use eucalyptus oil in my bath water. The water being as hot as you can stand helps also. The steam helps to loosen congestion, not only in the nose, but also in the sinuses.

A friend of mine smells horseradish to help with congestion.

My mom swears by spicy food, typically Chinese.

Best of luck.

Have you tried a good workout? Sometimes when I'm sick I go to the gym and have a really good work out and get my blood pumping. You whole respiratory system is working extra hard and you completely forget you had a stuffy nose. Take a long hot shower after.
And for night time...NIGHT QUILL!

A hot shower, humidifier, spicy foods, and sucking on something like candy or a cough drop seems to help too
