OH NOOOOO.... I'm sorry but as a teen and have a cousin who just turned 9......Strawberry Shortcake is not "cool" well not in an 8 year old mind.....nowadays kids have a mind set that "oh that's not cool so i will be made fun of" and that's true....Strawberry Shortcake is the stuff that i use to wear when i was 5 and that was in 97 its 10 years later and not so cool now....sorry but that's how kids nowadays are and I'm gonna hate it when my youngest sister turns 8 because that's when girls start to notice fashion whats technically "hot" and whats "not" oh and trying to get them to appreciate a gift...ha.....not gonna happen anytime soon...only if its something really cool like a i-pod but Strawberry Shortcake....not a chance....sorry but times have changed and i remember when i was 8...i didn't wanna take my lunchbox to school because my friends all ate the school lunch....friends influence kids more then anything and the only way that she is gonna change is if her friends change that includes on how she accepts a gift....if they are like that then she will most likely be like that too....sorry but that's the truth

it's good to appreciate gifts but that doesn't make her have to be walking around with a strawberry shortcake outfit. she would probably get laughed at. (is that what you want?). your daughter is being honest. i think that's better instead of showing a happy face and be quite the opposite in the inside.
