YES! there is one part in particular that has a kinky sex club. I wouldn't let any really young kids read it.

It is not intended for children, try his book Leaping Beauty instead, but I understand he does have a strong following of early teenaged girls, 11, 12, 13. Kids are smarter than most people give them credit for, think about the jokes you didn't understand in movies as a kid but heard again later and understood it in a whole new way. There is the sex club scene but it is not written like an erotica novel. If you are an adult though, I HIGHLY reccomend it. I read Wicked then Son of a Witch, then read them both again immidiatly.

Gregory Maguire's stories are re-told fairy tales. It does not mean they are meant for kids. Heck, lots of stories these days are based on fairy tales (there's a freaky one with Sigourney Weaver about Snow White...not kid-friendly). Wicked has some sex stuff and violence and anti-government rallies and murder attempts. Not kid-friendly.
I wouldn't recommend anyone read it, 'cause it wasn't that good, but certainly wouldn't let anyone younger than 15-16 read it (some wouldn't let any minors read it...I'm lenient and might go as young as 13 if they are mature).

I wouldn't say 'bad stuff' but if you are asking if is suitable for kids, I would say not. Mainly because it has quite deep psychological and political aspects which a kid probably just wouldn't enjoy. It's a great book but not light and I have no idea how they turned it into a musical!

I don't care much for his work anyway, but I would say that his books should only be ready by kids 16 years old or older.
