I was starting out on 50 mg of Clomid on days 3-7. I went back to take progesterone test and was confirmed I was ovulating but nothing showed signs of being pregnant. After the 3rd month,Doc put me on 100 mg on days 3-7.I stopped taking the medication as of November because my friend told me that the average you can take clomid was 4 times while I was told you can take up to 7.I had wrote my doctor a email to confirm this but I will be waiting as he is out of town

My doctor gave me first 3 cycles of 50mg, then he recommended 3 months pause and soon I'm starting my second 3 month cycle with 100mg and I personally find that reasonable. I've heard you should have a three month pause after you took it 3 months, but everybodys doctor is different and recommends something else,I hope this helps you and wish you good luck :-)

Hi I am currently on my first round of Clomid. My specialist has told me that if after 6 months of being on Clomid and no pregnant result the chances of becoming pregnant decrease and the medication will be stopped due to the high risk of complications. i.e Cysts on the Ovaries. What dose are you on?? The Doc's will usually increase to the Max dose if no luck after 4 months.

I just finished my first cycle. My doctor said 6 cycles of clomid is the norm after that they go on the injection.
I am sure your doctor wouldnt keep you on it if it was unsafe but if you are worried get a second opinion from a medical professional.

I am on Clomid right now as well. And my doctor started me out at 100mg. I have now taken it for 6 months, he said 7 is the max. Have you been getting IUI's with it?

For the last 5 years, my doctor has had me on Clomid, off & on. For 6 months I was on 50 mg, then we took a 3 month break & she restarted me on 100mg & then we took another break & she put me on 200 mg. I was on 200mg after that off & on for 5 years. Never had a successful pregnancy, only two miscarriages.

I took it, I hated it. But it worked. I have two beautiful children to show for it. I was never told about a "lifetime" dose, I went up to the highest dose and had another medical procedure and started back on the lowest again. I would suggest, the pee on a stick ov predictor over the basal method.
