OK Here Ill Add To my Question... I''m trying to ask, why did they make mummies and what did they think they do? Sorry if this doesnt make sense.

The Egyptians believed that they could only go to their version of heaven if their physical body still existed. Mummifying the body made it last a lot longer than if left to nature (although the deserts of Egypt often made natural mummies).

Why did mummies do what? I'm mystified because I can't see a mummy doing anything except lying there like a dead person.
