I find that Playtex is better than Tampax for this reason: Playtex swells outwards when absorbing and Tampax swells long ways when absorbing and it sticks out because it gets so long, hope this helps. Also, get the plastic applicator because cardboard hurts.

Pearl or playtex. I prefer pearl though! Just because playtex (I may be wrong..) have cardboard applicators. For a beginner, I'd say any tampon with plastic applicators, and even if you're having a heavy period, go with lights first, to get used to it. I personally love Pearl tampons, they're comfortable, they don't leak (unless I don't change them often enough) and I don't even feel them most of the time. Just make sure you know what you're doing, you should change your tampon at least every 4 hours, never ever leave them in longer than 5! TSS is a very serious disease, that is caused by bacteria spreading from the tampon being left in(because the tissue(the blood) has been in your vagina too long and can spread.) Be sure you know the symptoms of that. Also, never ever forget if you have a tampon in! You should use pads at ight, just to be on the safe side (however I have had tampons in, but I usually make sure I use a super and put it in just before I go to bed, and change as soon as I get up). Good luck! and sorry if I bombarged you with info you already knew, just want you to be safe.

Don't be embarrassed. You didn't say how old you are, but there is (or used to be, anyway) Playtex Jr. for beginners. I don't know how heavy you get; I presume if you are a beginner it isn't too much. Any of the Playtex ones are by far the most comfortable, because of the smooth, rounded plastic applicator, and are pretty leak-proof as they swell outward to fill in the "space". If you're into organic, you can get them at health stores, but I'm not into sticking my fingers in there to insert them. Y'know?

Well if you're a beginner get one with an applicator, also DON'T get a carboard applicator, get a plastic one...i would say
Tampax PEARL is the best, or possible Playtex Gentile Glide
Then if course just get your right size..
Hope i helped!

Plastic. Start small. I had a hard time starting out, it just takes practice. I use Tampax Pearl and I personally love them but others prefer Playtex Gentle Glide, it's good also. Test them out and see what you like best. Cardboard sucks so I wouldn't even bother. Good luck girl!!

Tampax Pearl. I like that it has the plastic applicators, and also this braid type of thing at the very top of the string that helps prevent leaks. Also, they're very comfy.
A little more expensive, but I think its worth it :)

The Playtex Sport is a good option. It is easy to apply, and they have different levels of absorbency. Don't be embarassed about it.
