It is an Out of Body experience designed to make Meredith decide what she has worth living for. She has Derek, her friends, her mother and her career but are any of those worth going back for them? They will warm her up and possibly shock her with the difibrilator. Eventually it will bring her back to life but the question is will every thing still be the same when she gets back. Will her mother still be there when she gets back? It is hard to tell. This all started with what they said to one another and what they did not. This may be when her mother dies.
