I have a 94 chevy lumina 3.1 engine I need to know how I can find out what years of lumina's that the transmissions are compatible to use?

actually, it doesn't have to be another lumina, about every chevy front wheel drive with automatic that year used the same tranny, which was a 4T60E. The 4T60E is still being installed in new cars, but I doubt you could put a 2007 4T60e in your car and have it work right. I know with the 4L60E(used in rear wheel drive) that a 95 model tranny wouldn't work in a 94 without a computer change

4T60-E is the trans you have.the ones from 93 up to 97 should inerchange .any FWD GM car that has a 3.1 and has the same differential ratio will work.

Also, check with nationally listed salvage companies.

just call or go to a mechanic shop that specilizes in transmissions. sometimes the dealerships can tell you.

best place to inquire is at salvage yards they have books on that stuff.
