Everyone knows the Mayans had a specific date for the end of the world. What most people fail to realize, however, is that the Mayans also had a date for the beginning of the world. This date was, as far as I remember, sometime around 3000 BCE Now, we have documentary evidence demonstrating that the world existed prior to this time. That being said, if the Mayans got the date of the beginning of the world wrong, why should we believe they were right about the end?

it was not that the world would end it is the end of the mayan calender. Not a prediction that the world would end. If anything they are talking about a new beginning. but we will see!
