I'm going to make three points. whoever can refute ALL THREE points accurately and with reasonable logic and/or information gets the best answer.
1. The UN is a drain on the US's Resources
2. The UN is corrupt, including many terrorist countries who hate the US, and so it won't always accede to the US's will, and many times makes a wrong decision.
3. UN is superfluous Ex. When they said we SHOULDN'T go into iraq, and i believe it was also defied once in (the cold war?) by soviet russia, who refused to stop an assault on something X_X

btw, the US does fund quite a bit of it, however, it's not so much as to be vital. china could take over where we left off... ;) (and if you want to argue the case of the league of nations, that was long before when the us was the giant superpower in the world and it didn't have the large ground or roots the UN has.

I'll try!
1. The US hasn't paid anything to the UN for years. It owes millions. So no drain on resources there.
2. If you were to remove all countries with corruption in there governments the UN would consist of no-one. Just because a country disagrees with the US and stops the US getting its own way does not mean they are wrong. Thats what debate and democracy is all about!
3. The UN can only do so much. If a Superpower (ie US or USSR) wants to act unilaterally then who can stop them. The UN was formed to be run on good-will and all countries agreeing to abide by the decisions made in the UN.
The US isn't really in the UN, it just uses it for it's own needs. If UN HQ wasn't in the US, they probably wouldn't bother to show up.
How's that?

No, the UN has no chance with US participation and is a needed world body.
1. Nothing is a drain if it invests in something that makes things better. The UN has provided relief worldwide and resolved some conflicts.
2. The UN is corrupt. The US is corrupt. Some nations are right to be angry with the US. The UN is not a US puppet. It's built for the will of all nations.
3. ? The UN has no standing army and no base nation. It can only recommend things. Issues are voted on. Not sure what else you are saying here. The UN does not rule the world. It's a discussion group that produces discussion for intelligent peoples to resolve issues. Sometimes that advice or resolution is ignored.

I cannot refute even one of your valid points. I will go one bold step further and say that I believe the United Nations itself to be the largest most organized terrorist organization in the World under the quise of Humanitarian Aid.
And until the United States ends our affiliation we cannot legitimately fight terror.

I can't refute your points, in fact I agree with them completely. We should quit the UN & should have done so years ago. We should also kick them out of NY.

No argument from me! You know, the United Nations purports to stand for alot of things. However, being about something without the will to enforce it is the same as being about nothing. Good riddance to the United Nations.

Before you can ask someone to refute your points you first need to back up your points.
