Running lean means not enough fuel is getting into the chambers.

1. Clogged injectors
2. Clogged Fuel filter
3. Bad Fuel pressure regulator
4. Bad Fuel Pump.

i own a repair shop, and a bad 0-2 sensor will cause this to happen, and the 0-2 sensor wont show to be bad on it either, they actually wont throw a code until it runs rich,as long as its running lean it wont give you a code for the 0-2 sensor, good luck i hope this help,s.

Try changing the fuel filter and get a tune up. your injectors could use a cleaning as well. Get a good fuel injector cleaner and use a tank of high octane gas.
