besides obviously respecting yourself...what does self respect mean to you?

We all have a measure of self respect. We care about who we are , what we do, where we go, who we talk to, and who we are seen with.
Self respect is very secular and it has nothing to do with being humble before others or God. Self respect is Pride and Pride can be a sin.
What does it mean to me. As a born again Christian, I suppose that I must humble myself before the Lord to atone for my sins to gain a measure of respect for myself. By placing your trust in Jesus Christ, you know that you will win the race of life. The fact that I do respect myself, is why I became a Born Again Christian because I do not want to burn in hell.

Being honest, taking care of my body, eating right and doing good deeds that make you feel good, don't lie or cheat and, dressing right for what ever it is your doing. There are so many things that make self respect that it's hard to put your finger on just one thing.

Ok, I get your question.
It means two things:
1) I means you have to take a stand for your feelings - you absolutely cannot live in denial...you can't pretend things aren't the way they are.
2) I means you have to take a stand for OTHERS taking a stand for your feelings.

I am not doing anything that I am asamed of doing. I feel that I am a good role model for my children and grandchildren.
