It's not a big deal. You just bleed a bit from the vagina for a few days about once a month. If you use tampons you can feel pretty much completely normal. And if you really decide you hate having periods, when you're a bit older you can go to the doctor and get birth control pills to take all the time which will stop you from having periods at all.

A period is a monthly cycle that happens (duh) every month. What it means is that at the age from 10-15 you start it and the blood that comes out is your baby's blood. OK let me make it clear. Your body, at a certain age, starts making blood for your baby, in case you have one. It makes extra blood for the baby. When you get pregnant (which SHOULD be when you're married) the cycle stops because your body is making the baby and takes the blood for it. So your period will last 3-4 days. Tell your mom that you have your period. It's important. Plus, you'll need tampons or pads. Ask your mom the rest. You should hear it from her.

you will get your period shortly after your breasts develop. it is a sign that you are in the child bearing years. your body goes through a cycle. the ovum (egg) readies itself for fertilization, that's what happens when you have sex and the male ejaculates into you. while the ovum readies itself, a thick lining starts to form on the inside of your uterus. this lining is made up of bloody tissue. this is where the ovum will plant itself once fertilized and where the baby will receive its nutrients while in the womb (placenta), the ovum then is released from your ovaries into the fallopian tube which will travel into your uterus. if there is no fertilization then the lining that has been building up in your uterus will slough off and then be discharged from your vagina...this is your period or in medical terms menstruation/menses

well, typically every 28 days you ovulate, which is when an egg goes down the fallopian tube to your uterus. if it's not fertilized, then it basically goes to waste, and it and part of the uterine lining comes off. that's the blood. it usually lasts about 3-7 days. then the process repeats about 28 days later. also, don't be afraid to ask your mom. she's had experience.
