I have a couple of questions so if you could please help me I would really appreciate that. Well I woke up at 4:00 this morning because I had started my period and I was wondering if that has ever happened to anyone else before, personally I thought it was weird I have been having my period for like almost 10 years and it has never happened to me before. Also I have been having horrible cramps all day and that doesn't usually happen that bad to me on the 1st day I am always nausous but I almost threw up like 5 times while I was at work. Please help me I feel horrible. Any suggestions that help you feel better if you have experience with this or know of anything that works would be so great! Thank you

My period often starts at night when I am sleeping. I also have varying levels of cramps & varying amounts of blood depending on the month. The best thing I've found for cramps is Aleive. My mom used to get the prescription version of it from the doctor, and although it take 45 minutes to work, it numbs me out. An old roommate also suggested evening primrose pills which worked pretty well and you can get at a health food store. The last thing you can do, and this is hard to explain, is lie on your back, put your legs up onto a bed so they are almost, but not quite straight. Then you turn your toes slightly in, and just lie there. My mom is a physical therapist and recommended that, and it seems to put my uterus into a more relaxed position immediately, and so I stop hurting. I'm not sure about the nausea.... Good luck!

yes, that has happened to me before. unless you're on birth control, your period can start anytime (day or night) within your regular cycle. i take advil or midol for cramping and backaches.
