Vintage and second hand shops are excellent sources: a friend of mine got her formal dress from a Lifeline shop for about fifteen dollars (Australian). If you find a puffy dress, you can DIY it with pins, a pair of scissors, some band patches and black material.

Well depending on how hardcore you are, you can check hottopic but if you are one of those girls who think that place is for posers then go downtown and check out all the cool vintage shops and places like that. Punk girls always go for vintage becuase it's "anti-mainstream" or something like that
