Hey man!
Let me give you some advice that I wish i had when I was your age. Don't buy the car!!! You don't need it. Especially going into the marines. You will not be using the car as much as you would want, however you will still have the car payment. Everybody wants to live above their means, this is why america is in debt. I think you should go to the marines, God bless you, and save the money that you get from there, or at least 35%. Just put it where you can't touch and forget about it (a credit union ;) account) After you get out of the marines you will have money saved to start your life. Let me also say, when you will get out, and through your time with the marines, you will be debt free. This will be a great feeling!! I promise. Good luck, God bless!!! If you do not want that advise however, go to your credit union. They usually have teen smart programs. You probobly will need a guarantor for the loan, but this way you will have some credit building up for you!

At 17, you're too young to sign a legal contract, so it's not likely that any recognized lending institution will make a loan to you. Is one of your parents willing to either lend you the money, or take the loan in their name for you to buy the car?

At 17, you will not be able to sign a legal contract.
You will need someone of legal age to co-sign for the loan.

Minors (no matter how responsible they are) are not considered as liable under the law. No bank (or anyone for that matter) will agree to it as they have no recourse if you default on the payments at it would be considered an illegal contract

You cannot enter into a legal contract under the age of 18, period.
