Huh. Not such an easy question.

Some prices I remember: McDonald's basic hamburger, 15 cents, fries 15 cents as well, I think.

Long distance calls to the next state: 50 cents for the first three minutes, 15 cents for each additional minute, most were more.

Gasoline, 31 cents per gallon.

17" black and white TV set, $130.00.

Bus fare, 25 cents within Cleveland.

Long distance bus fare, Cleveland to Pittsburgh, might have been about three bucks, probably less. (This is highly unreliable.)

I think I recall bail amounts being several hundred dollars for some things.

The Motel 6 chain is called that because that's how much their rooms cost when the chain was opened in, I think, the early 1960's. Same with Super 8. Holiday Inn was probably twice the price, maybe.

Advertised price for a Volkswagen Beetle in 1958 or so was $1695, but it was always somewhat more than that, really. Same with the Honda 50's advertised price (it was in a song) of $215, in about 1964.

I used to pay $1.75 for a haircut.

Bus tokens were the size of dimes and you could you either. I was too young to know about hotels but I know you could get a hamburger for .20 and cheeseburger for a quarter. We had a place that had a special of 8 burgers for a buck. And they were good too.
