OK? We are forgiving-haha. Dont worry, being a tax collector isnt bad, it is cheating the people out of their money that is the problem. Some tax collectors took more money from the people than they should have.

Actually old George's advice was NOT to form political parties. We did anyway. Frankly, I think he was right. In any case, you really cannot call him much of anything politically speaking. As I recall, the first two parties that formed after Washington left office were the Federalists and the Wigs. Roughly mapped, the Wigs would be the conservatives (states rights), with the Federalists being the liberals (strong Federal government.
But the definitions of everything have shifted quite a bit since then.

What does that have to do with anything really? That was then and we're in the 21st Century! People change! Washington was a Brit as well and left that position. Jesus was the one to change them from being tax collectors now wasn't he? So what is your point? Conservative, define the word? Look it up? Today it has been taught to be rigid and uncompromising. then it was the norm, the happy medium to keep a balance of protocol eh?

"Read my lips" George Bush was conservative that raised taxes or better said raised the rate of taxes. It had to be approved by a Democratic Congress. I don't believe that the term tax collector is applicable. He was putting down an insurrection.

I don't think that George Washington could be considered a conservative at all, after all he was the general that stood up to the British and formed a new government, wouldn't that be considered progressive even today.

I don't see your point. Taxes aren't a bad thing when they're being taken and used appropriately.
