NO I don't agree. Death would be too painless and non humiliating for them.
I say we do to them what they did to their victims. That would be more just in my opinion.
And they should not get the option of having a second offense. I think it should be automatic life in prison without the possibility of parole.

How about if we give second time murderers, manslaughterers, and unintentional-death-causers the death penalty first? While I'm sure the trauma caused by many sex offenses is horrific, it seems to me that people who make more than one person die should die before people who just ruin someone's life.
OK, now, what about sex offenders? Well, there are a lot of sex offenses.
Public nudity is a sex offense. Do you think that everyone in California who gets caught changing into their wetsuit on the beach should be hanged? What about some college prankster who gets caught mooning people more than once?
Statutory rape is a sex offense. Did you know that having sex with a minor three years younger than you, no matter what your age is a sex crime? So if a 17 year old gets caught having sex with a 14 year old more than once, is that a death-penalty sort of offense? I mean sure, it sounds like a pretty big age difference at the time, but what about if the second time they get caught she's 17 and a half, and he's 20 and a half? Still too big an age difference? in the eyes of the law, it wouldn't be any kind of crime at all if she were 18 and he were 21, and socially speaking, if she were 21 and he were 24, people might say they made a great couple. Do they really mature so much that in four years, what they do together should change from a crime worthy of death to a socially acceptable couple? I don't know about you, but I don't feel any more mature than I did four years ago.
What about spousal abuse? If a man gets charged with beating his wife, that's definitely wrong, and I believe it's a sex crime, but the victims do sometimes (quite often, really) seek out these men again, and attack them. The men who fight back against these women can be charged as repeat offenders, but are they really commiting a second crime worthy of death, or are they just defending themselves against woman who is determined to make things right in her mind?
Your idea is probably a very good way to solve overpopulation, but I don't think it will do much else. The people that are stupid enough to get caught twice are usually not smart enough to really screw with the victim's heads. It's the ones that make their victims believe they deserve the abuse, and therefore don't get caught in the first place, that do the most damage.

Well, last week here in Florida, a man who had served over 22 years for a rape he did not commit was finally released from prison He had been asking for, & denied a DNA test for years When it was finally granted, it proved he could not have done it. Several eyewitnesses, including the victim, positively identified him. Another man later confessed to the crime, but still he was left there to rot.
He was only the latest of a long line of people convicted who were later proven innocent. No doubt there are many more still in prison who are in the same boat or have already been executed. . I believe most rapists & child molesters cannot be cured, but can control their behavior if they choose to & get help to do that.. It makes sense to impose a life sentence for second conviction. The death penalty, definitely not.

As some of your answers have already said, the death penalty is so full of problems not the least of which is the risk of executing an innocent person, why make things worse and extend it.
It also costs much much more than life in prison.
Life without parole is on the books in 48 states. It means what it says, and it is not a picnic.

In violent sex offenses i believe a life sentence w/absolutely no parole or a death sentence depending on the offense. I think they would suffer more in general population than with the death penalty being on death row for 10-15 years.

I don't agree. I think it's too broad. Please keep in mind that urinating in public is a sex offense in the vast majority of states, even though Public Exposure is not. That means, if you have to pee really bad when you're driving down the road, and you pull over and pee in the woods beside the road, if you are caught you can be charged (and convicted) with a sex offense. Personally, I think that all Violent Sex Offenders should be put to death on the second offense.

Many, Many different ways to go... no, i don't think i can support this law. i do believe that sex offenders should get punished, but:
1. If a man* is framed, what is he supposed to do? theres always the chance of innocents losing their lives. I realize, that for two times they'd have to be convicted twice but juries are simply made of people, and people are stupid sometimes, and prejudiced, and are susceptible to bribes and blackmail and such.
2. it's simply too barbaric. who are we, to stoop to such a low height? this is a country of freedom, and liberty. are we going to impose such laws like this? the death penalty is wrong.
3. this is going to encourage people to drag a trial on and on and on and on because they have nothing to lose, really, theres no chance of a plea bargain or anything (just cut off an arm!) and so, that's going to damage the whole of the us...people will be more tired, more stress on people who really don't need it, and trials get behind etc.

No I don't think it deserves the death penalty. Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with what sex offenders do, but I don't think what they do is bad enough for death penalty, especially when some murderers don't even get the death penalty.
