I'd say Lance Berkman. I don't think he gets much pub outside of Houston. Just look at his stats. This is called consistency.

I would say one of the most underrated players is Brian Roberts of the Orioles. He has put up consistent numbers for several years and although he did receive an All Star game appearance, he rarely gets talked about. I think Miguel Cabrera is great but I hear about him all the time and don't think he's underrated.

It depends on who you think is underrating them. Guy like Crawford, Berkman, and Cabrera might not get the same recognition as Pujols or A-Rod by your average person, but I would hesitate to say that they are ignored in baseball circles. I would say Lyle Overbay, 46 doubles and 22 jacks last year, and he hit .312 up in Toronto last year, with a career average around .300. Very few people bay attention to the Jays, and Wells and Halladay take up most of the spotlight. He kind of was forgotten about when Milwaukee dumped him for Prince.

I would say anyone on the Twins. I'm not a Twin fan, but you just look at how little media attention they get, other than Santana and Liriano. You have the league MVP and the league's leading hitter, in Morneau and Mauer, yet they almost went to arbitration in attempt to get about $3 million salaries, which is barely above the league average. With how many young players they have and the price they have them at, I really think they could be semi-darkhorse contenders for 5 or 6 years.

I think Robinson Cano. He is on a star filled team so he is overlooked, but he was 3rd in the MLB in batting avg. last year. This guy is also a great fielder. I believe Cano one day will be as good or better than Alfonso Soriano, another former 2nd baseman who was underrated as a Yankee.

I would have to say Garrett Atkins, the 3B from the Colorado Rockies. This guy can flat out rake. Check out these stats from 2006. .329 BA, 29 HR, 120 RBI, 117 Runs. I've seen him a couple of times while playing the Brewers and he absolutely killed us. What a hitter!!!

Travis Hafner.

He bats over .300 every year, 30 homers, 110 rbis, 100 runs yet he gets no publicity.

Miguel Cabrera is the most underpayed baseball player today though.
