Chances are very good that the cedar posts have not been treated with chemicals to prevent premature rotting. Cedar is well known for it's natural resistance to rotting. If it was chemically treated, you should find tags on the boards that identify the chemicals used as these tags are required by law.

Good luck with your gardening.
