I have 2 computers and my son has one computer and they have all stopped completing the system restore function in Windows XP. Please help! I have no idea what's wrong.

How often do you use the system restore feature?
There is a limited amount of space for which it can store files, then it stops.
Turn off system restore, reboot your computer, then turn it back on and make a new restore point. That should clear it up.

Also select more options.
Clean System Restore files of earlier periods.
Also download AdvancedWindowsCareV2 Personal from www.iobit.com. This free program fixes some problems.
Para two:
Start/Control Panel//Performance /and Maintenance/system/
System PropertiesSystem Restore. .
Remove the check mark in "Turn offSystem Restore. in all drives"
If you want you can allot less disk space. for System Restore.
by selecting settings.

I aggree with node1499, but there could also be another reason. Have you recently installed a backup program? some of these programs may disable system restore

sounds like its turned off.........heres how to turn it back on.....

Click Start.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Uncheck the "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

that should get ya back on track .......gl
