I don't see any difference everytime I update it. What is different about it? What happens if I don't update it? I updated it today, so I don't know what changes the update made. Thanks! I've been wondering why you need to for some time now.

I don't mean updating by adding more songs. I mean updating it like making it up to date with iTunes. It asks if I want to update my SOFTWARE. What exactly does this mean and what changes does it make. Again, thanks!

If it doesn't both don't worry bout it, lol. But those updates insure the software work to the maxium lines with hardware until they total get another verison of the software.

its to update security so that you are less likely to download a virus and for better features on itunes. either the updates are subtle or you just havn't discovered them yet.
