I agree Nandina domestica is the tall variety (N. domestica nana is the short one).

The is a cultivar call nandina domestica "Richmond" you could look at also.

Nandina domestica is the original species, not a cultivar, but it does essentially behave as you stated. Umqua Warrior is a full-size nandina cultivar with and berry set and color.

Omajust is right. It is Nandina Domestica. I have several in my garden and they are really useful for fillers, and I have two in pots that do really well.

I think it's Nandina Domestica. However, google with "heavenly bamboo" and see what you get.
