Has anyone been warned already about what mistake they have done in a job and that if they do it again, they will be fired?

I'm just curious because i hear crazy things from friends that caused them to get fired from a job.

As an employer, I know that good employees are hard to find and keep. I wouldn't fire someone for one isolated silly thing, unless it was a major violation of company policy or endangered someone. Most large employers, and more and more smaller ones, have an employment handbook that is given to all new employees. It will outline what kind of behavior/violations will result in warnings, suspension and/or termination.

The job market today is such that employers are looking for 'trouble-free' employees. They can fire people for all kinds of reasons that they would not have even a few years ago.

Yes, many people are fired for what seem to be silly reasons, but I have also seen a lot of employees do a lot of really stupid things.

I'm actually halfway through a 30-day probation (I've been there 20 YEARS)..........
Because too many people complained about me complaining too much.
Apparently, I'm the only person seeing the irony in that!
Next step would be a 3-day suspension without pay, then termination. So I just stopped talking completely.

Are you covered by and type of rules and regulations? Do you have a union?
