All depends what you want to do. basically its like Apple and Windows. Its just the software that runs the functions of the phone. A pocket PC such as the UStarcom vx6700 and the Samsung i730 are have a Windows based operating system that looks and acts alot like windows on your home PC. Black berry and palm both developed their own, Until recently Blackberrys were only really good at e-mail, now they do most things well. Palm software is nice its graphical (pretty pictures) and its easy to use. But I still find the Pocket PCs the easiest to use, Oh Pocket PC are the same as Windows. Now there is a Palm Treo that uses windows software its the Palm Treo 700W they have it in the palm version as well its the 700P. It used to be that there were not many applications for the windows operating systems on the pocket PCs but that's not the case anymore, If you go to handandgo.com you will see that they have the same applications of Palms as they do Windows. The best bet is get to a sprint or Verizon store and try them out for a while, go there when you can play for a bit and get a feel for how things work. The few that I would shy away from are the Motorola Q. it sucks crashes often and has bad battery life and reception. The UStarcom vx6700 is probably the best one out there. It has a great keyboard that you can actually use, not like the palms and built in WiFi connections to keep you connected. Another good site to check is phonescoop.com Anyway hope I didn't over whelm you too much. Good Luck!!

nevermind the palm or the blue berry...ask yourself do you want to be able to write and tap on the screen to take notes and other task as you would use your mouse (Pocket PC PHONE)...if that is not important to you (POCKET PC SMARTPHONE).
