I have been a a new job for two weeks. I am in a sales position, and I was talking two my boss and she asked me if I like selling! Isn't that odd considering I am one of his salespeople? Then she told me I was very good at it, and then asked how long I was out of work before taking this job, as I was out for several months...Whta was she getting at? I am so confused!

Take it at face value. Maybe your boss was just trying to make small talk. Maybe he or she was trying to understand why you were out of work if you're so talented... maybe it was a compliment. Who knows? Just do the job and do it well... and don't try to "read" people at work. It'll drive you insane!

Some people are good at a job but they hate it. They do it only for the money. When you take a job after being unemployed for a period of time, others are even more likely to wonder if you just took a job to have money coming in. I'm sure that is what she was talking about.

Sounds like she is unsure of your ability. She is asking you if you like selling and then covering by saying that you were good at it. Plus a lapse in work history - she is probably just trying to figure you out.
