The principal of my child's school(Las Vegas,NV) took it upon herself to withdraw my son from her school. I was only notified when I called the school to discuss an issue with my son's attendance. Is this legal or should I be upset with her? Does she have any legal standing to go above my head and make such decisions?

The principal has the right to expel a child from school ..even indefinitely if this child poses a threat to others....... you should have been informed of your son's status ..either by a phone call or by mail ....has your son been getting the mail for you?

You can fight it through the school system. You need to contact the super intendant and take it up with them. I was notified through the mail over christmas break That I was kicked out of school, and my mom fought it so they let me back in.

I'm not sure what you mean by "withdraw".
Do you mean they took them off the school grounds?
Or that they were suspended or expelled??

What do you mean when you say "withdaw"? Expel?

It sounds like he was expelled, which IS legal. I don't quite understand by saying "withdraw" though.

Check the local laws. If she withdrew your son without your knowledge, where was he going to school?
