I had a mouth and still do so when I was asked that, I better not have responded unless it was, "nothing, I'm sorry" or else I would've gotten in trouble. I was never hit or given a "wallop" before though.

My mom used to say 'do I look stupid', I once made the mistake of saying yes, massive wallop for that answer.

come here now! my mam used to say. if we didnt go right to her, for a slap, she would chase us and give us several slaps.Or the best one was, she would throw her slipper at us,if we moved,and she missed, she would make us take her slipper back to her and then we would have to resume our original position so she could throw it again. so we daren't move again. mad my mam was i tell you

no1. is actually conditional, not a question. 'if you don't do x, I'll y' is a threat. 2 is a question, and the best thing to do is to express just how busy you have been. :-)
