party 1 purchased large amount of buildng materials (alot of wood) and was going to keep it stacked in our field for 3 months. that was in Jan.2001, there was the possibility that I would build the house. they bought and then sold 3 to 5 bulding sites, and finally I lost track of them when they moved to another state. and re-married 2x ( I know now) so name changed 2x. I have had NO way to contact them for past 3 years. What are my responsibilites over their abandonded material ?(enuogh to frame a house) can I charge storage or sell the mess- alot rotted over the 6 year period, it was stacked on the ground, plus rain snow and ants took their toll.* appreciate any help as to MY rights to get rid of mess.

Yes, there is a statute of limitations for them to bring an action against you. However, it depends on your relationship with that party as to what the time period is. Post more details and we can help. Also, if you have a contract with them, there may be a clause in it that extends that statute.
