I need for someone to check my first problem and help me solve the second.

1. 7(e-f)-3(2e-3f)
....7e-7f-6e+9f
...........e+2f

2. The smaller of two consecutive integers is one less than half of the greater.

i was thinking it was like this...
x, x+1.......... x=x+1(over 2) -1

i hope the over 2 did not confuse you. i mean x+1 divided by 2

1 is right and your equation for 2 is also right.

To solve it you would first add 1 to both sides since that's the inverse of -1, then multiply both sides of the equation by 2 since that's the inverse of dividing by 2.

This comes out 2(x + 1)= x + 1

2x + 2 = x + 1

Then move the terms with x to one side and the other terms to the other; you probably know what to do from here.
