There will be but it will be an NCAA, not MLB game. You can thank EA Sports for this (in my opinion). After they signed an exclusive deal with the NFL for Madden, 2K Sports rushed to sign an exclusive deal with MLB so they wouldn't lose any more of their sports game market share. The NBA refuses to sign an exclusive deal with anyone and would rather just have lots and lots of NBA licensed games made every year. No one really wants the exclusive NHL license right now so it's a non-issue, at least the last that I heard.
The good news is that I've heard that Kush games, the developer of MLB 2K7, hired the lead game play designer of the MVP series, Ben Brinkman, away from EA and he's now heading the MLB 2K series. This could mean that the 2K series might begin to resemble what the MVP series could have evolved into.
I know that EA puts out the MVP college baseball game but who cares about college baseball? I love the MVP game engine and mechanics (especially the pitching) but I'm not paying any money to play as a college team in college stadiums. Maybe if EA budget prices it at 19.99 but I won't pay more than 25 bucks for it. Even so, I have zero interest in college baseball (until the draft nears and I hear who the Yankees have an interest in) so I probably won't ever buy it, especially not at the unused full-price.
So I share your sadness at the death of the MLB MVP games. I have glorious memories of changing speeds on pitches, inducing crucial ground-ball double plays and clutch hits. Ahhh, the inning-ending strikeout with runners on. I tried one of the 2K games and I just didn't like it. The pitching was confusing and non-intuitive. Oh well, such is the video game industry.

cy- you wrote that there was already one released, the one released was MLB 2K7 with Derek Jeter on the cover, and he is every year. MVP 07 is a different game that had Manny on the cover of the 05 edition.
unfortunatly there's not going to be an 07 game. I have no idea why but MVP baseball decided not to make anymore major league games past 05. I am a huge fan of the MVP games and I am upset that I still have to play on my MVP 05 game when I really want an updated version. They have made new MVP college baseball games but not major league games, don't ask me why- but I do wish that they would come out with a new one, but I don't think they will :-(

There is a MVP 07 but is college baseball. The closest time that they could have a MVP game for MLB would be 2012.

MVP 07 was released this past week. It has the NCAA license though as Electronis Arts lost the rights to use the MLB in its games for the next ten years or so. Go to the EA sports website to read about it

Yes MVP '07 The Show is coming out. You can pre-order it right here (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product_id=281654). It ships on Feb. 26. It'll cost ya $39.99. I already bought the college game. It's okay. Just bought it to pass the time until The Show comes out. I can't wait. I'm not sure why you guys are saying it's not coming out. Rumor mill, I guess.
