You don' get to sample the product in love marraige too. In a love marraige all you know is abouot the product in the display, promising that that it would be helpful in this way or that way. but when it comes to maintenance of the product, it becomes a headache...

This was an explanation in your language. Now for mine...

We are human beings not some sort of goods. And to understand a person is a gradual process. You cannot just look at it and conclude about it's attitude. The more time you spend with him/her the more you learn about him/her. So what kind of test drive are you talking about. Even in love marraiges the learning process is still on. You keep discovering new things about your spouse.

Coming back to your language again, in arranged marraiges are not like buyiung a car but more like ordering a meal in an restaurant. yo uare not allowed to order after tasting the meal. order it, eat it (whether it's of your choice or not). The only difference is there you pay the bill and leave while here you live and pay the bills. I believe when you buy a car, the don't sell you the very same unit that was test driven by you. That's just a sample, the actual unit that you buy is different isn't it. Do you want it that way?

secondly when you marry someone, that doesn't mean that you are the owner of his/her life. Marraige means two different lives uniting into one. It's like singing a duet. Each one should know when to pitch high and when to pitch low to sing a perfect melodious song...

:-)

Mr. Kaliyug ka plato, I think you marry someone that you both fall for each other. My best suggestion is don't marry someone for dowry (DAHEGE IN HINDI, if I am correct), or just b/c she looks pretty or of high social status. Everything fades if you two don't have any chemistry in between and if you don't love each other and marrying just for society and parents. It is simply because if you two don't click, you will have a remorse for the rest of your life.

This is to let our western readers to know unlike in western cultures of Europe and America, bride and groom are arranged to get married by relatives, parents, etc. in some South Asian countries even today. Some get to date with each other few times before they get married, others may not even get to date or get to know the person he or she is going to get married until the day they actually get married. Unlike the reader above me stated, there is no love before marriage. My question to Mr. Kaliyug ka plato, how can you marry someone that you don't even love....and here you are talking about sampling (or testing) one before getting married??????

When you truly love someone it doesn't matter if they aren't great in bed, you work on it. You should know before you marry the person if they are willing to compromise and work on things in a marriage, then when problems come up, like you want a more adventurous sex life, you talk about it and work it out.

there is a lot of difference in marriage and a car,how you will feel if the same query is made by your would be wife about you and she relinquishes you as a non performer.

I think that marriage certificates should have expiration dates. That way, you have the option to renew, but no obligation to. That way, if you are not happy in your "lease", you can move on.

I would say it's better to test first.
Saves a lot of heartache later.

Sorry for not quite getting termanology, but what do you mean by "driving it?" To me, it sounds like "driving you crazy." Again, I humbly apologise for my trouble with comprehension.
