I always expect the worst; from the quality of my work, to the difficulty of new topics. It gets me really anxious, and worked up in a bad way.
How can I get really high grades, without tremendous worry?

1. Remember that the people who are teaching you are there to help you (with some exceptions - there's always one jerk in every school). Allow yourself to allow them to do so. Also, your teachers are working at a thankless job, so thank them every once in a while. It'll improve your relationship with them and will help you feel better about being at school in the long run.

2. Find the best way to retain the knowledge that is taught to you. This requires a little extra effort. In short, you first need to make an outline of all your notes. Make sure to cover eveything. Then you need to find the best way to remember it. Mnemonics do work best, but not everyone thinks in terms of simple words and catch phrases. Being an artistic mind myself, I use images that represent the initials of that which I need to remember. I would even go as far as to draw out an entire mural on a sheet of paper with each individual image in it representing something I need to learn. With that image in my head, I could just reference it in my mind whenever I need to.

3. When taking essay tests, be thorough. The best essay answer is the one that sounds as if you were to read it aloud, you could teach the subject back to the teacher. Use personal anecdotes and experiences to illustrate your thoughts whenver it is appropriate. Let the teachers know you understand and comprehend what it is they are teaching you and you will do well.

4. Find a friend who likes to hug and do so often. Nothing soothes the nerves quite like a warm hug.

That's it. Best of luck to you. I know you can do it.

You are putting wayyyyyyyyy to much pressure on yourself. Your negativity expecting the worse, does not help. Find some confidence in yourself. I am not sure who you are trying to impress with success. You? Or perhaps those negative around you that make you feel like you will fail. You need to do this for yourself. Noone else. You have to keep telling yourself. This is for you. For a better future, FOR YOU. You will find that school is not that hard, when you want to do good for yourself, forgetting all those who expect you to do good.

Please talk about it with someone you trust, whether at school or at home. Don't ever just hold it inside and carry this burden by yourself. There is a solution for every problem, but you have to be proactive and search for the answers. If you give your best, whatever it is, you should be rewarded and praised for it. And if anyone is pressuring you to achieve more than you have to offer, he/she needs to back off and support you in your efforts.
