Most buses are rear wheel drive. They get great traction because of their weight. Most school buses also have dual rear wheels which adds to their gripping power.

Depend on how you interpreted, most buses, school buses have 4-wheels in the rear and 2 wheels in the front, so what do you mean by 4-wheels drive? front wheel drive? be more specific.

Almost all large buses, both transit bus and motorcoaches, are rear-wheel drive. It's the axle that has "duallie" tires.
There are a very limited number of extremely low-floor minibuses that are front-wheel drive (no axle, thus no need to raise the floor!) but those are rare.

most larger buses use a rear engine drive to the rear wheels
and is called a pusher. the typical 4 wheel drive is not available
in a bus of larger capacity and is governed by the DOT,not the DMV.

There are 4 wheel drive buses but they are rare. I have seen a few in mountain communities.

They are rear wheel drive only. Never have seen any bus that was front wheel drive or 4WD for that matter.
