RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Former North Carolina House Speaker Jim Black pleaded guilty Thursday to accepting nearly $30,000 from three chiropractors while pushing for legislation they supported.
One day after resigning from the House, a somber Black appeared in a federal courtroom to plead guilty to a single count of accepting things of value in connection with the business of state government. The charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.

No not the voting democrats, it is good for them that they know that there is bad and good on both sides as well as the politicians know this, themselves! They laugh at us to think that we believe the things we believe, we are so naive! And gung ho followers they do this all the time! He just got caught that is all ! But guess what this is the beginning of the end of corruption real soon, watch the rest start getting endicted all of them and they will have a field day with the Republicans that are no longer in the Congress remember those guys and the war and bush? ha ha We're on a roll pal, and this train stops for no one now! no democrats never have to pay for their corruptness. He'll end up with a slap on the wrist and re-elected. On the other hand Scooter Libby who is on trial in a who said what when case about someone who was supposed to be a covert operator but wasn't will probably get a huge fine and do 5 years in the pen.

Nothing is bad for the democrats they can do anything they want it rarely counts against them. They are voted back in whether or not they do anything good or bad. People that vote them in are in government jobs either federal or state level or on government aid of some type they make up over 35% of the voters. I am going Independent this trip I hope the rest of you do. We need to get rid of both the Democrat and Republican parties.

It's much worse for Democrats who usually get the maximum sentence. One democratic congressman is getting 10 years for having his driveway paved at $10K. But Californian Republican got millions of dollars in kick backs and will be out before the other guy.
Clinton's white water investment was 10K and he made nothing.
It is better to be a Republican in ploitics.

If Jim Black is a Democrat and his crime has become public knowledge then yes it hurts the Democrats; because it can be brought up over and over again in the media as candidates sling mud at each other.

Why are people still trying so hard to bash and shame each others parties???
Corrupt greedy @ss people exist in each party!!!!!!!
Stop supporting the corruption and support candidates who are not corrupt. Look outside the narrow box that exists within these two parties!!!
The list of prosecuted corrupted politicians is just as long in the Republican party as in the Democrat party!!
