I'm so white I'm nearly translucent.
White magic... hmmm. Is that magic for Whites only? So I suppose Black magic is just for people of African descent. And Red magic? What about Asians? There must be a Yellow magic. So the only Green magicians can be Space aliens, maybe.
Those that we claim or validity from, our ancestresses, did magic for creation, preservation, and destruction, worshipping Goddesses embodying each of these characteristics. Only a fraction of what went on before has survived, but the ratios of the rites are fairly equal for all her forms.
There were festivals, rites, and Priestesses of all her manifestions. From what we can conclude, they believed that balance of all her forms was essential to harmony. So essential, that one could not be exalted over the others unless she embodyed all these qualities. It is in fact a hinderance to spiritual growth to practice only one kind of magic or meditation. All must be experienced to truly get closer to the Infinate. Asian monks have known this for centuries, which is why they study healing, as well as moving meditation in destructive forms (aka martial arts), refining the body, mind and spirit. How can you learn how to heal, without automatically learning how to harm as well? Not to acknowledge that potential is to lose the ability to control it. To lose your own power.
The current craze to label all modern practitioners, who don't wish to 'freak out' their friends and family with thier spirituality, as 'white witches' is a total cop out. Magic is a tool like anything else and like any tool it can be used for anything. I prefer to think that I can protect myself and my kith or kin with my knowledge, instead of being unable to do so as a healer. Knowing you can and chosing not to in accordance with your beliefs is a perfectly valid expression of personal power. If you cannot deal with all forms of the craft, in all its beautiful and terrifying aspects, may I suggest something a little more whitebread? Something more simplistic, 'black and white', with no dangerous personal responsibilty involved. Disney, perhaps?

I'm a green witch, actually. This means that I like herbalism, is all.
I started questioning Christianity when I saw the inconsistency of 'Judge not' and 'Pray for the Sinners'. I was sick of learning what I was SUPPOSED to believe. So I looked. And looked and looked.
I found Paganism (not Wicca because I don't believe in all the 13 parts of the Wiccan Rede) and I love that I believe what I FEEL is right, not what I've read in a book, and not what a teacher in a classroom tells me is right. I can read a book on Paganism/Witchcraft/Wicca, and mark the parts I agree with, ignore the parts that I don't, and I'm still a Witch.

I"m a Green Witch. I use plants and herbs to help others around me, and make my own herbal medicines I learned from my family. My father insisted we go to Church Sundays, but my mom still taught us.
Spells are enacted prayers. No spooky stuff here.

I'm a witch, but I don't believe that magick should be lumped into white and black only. I believe that magick is both. In order for there to be balance, there has to be a balance of light and dark magick.

I find it more comforting spiritually as a witch than praying to any 'One' god, that I never really believed in anyway. There are other reasons, but I refer privacy on those things, sorry.
