as far as dsl goes if you live near the distribution center for you dsl service, it can handle 7mb/s, but as you move farther away, it slows down horribly, phone lines have bad signal degration.

Regular telephone lines can only physically handle 56 kilobytes per second. The only way to get a faster Internet connection is to order a faster service, in which the installer will run a different wire to your computer.

If you phone companies are upgrading to Fivber, then they have more potential than cable lines. In fact, some areas now let you get TV over phone lines.

If you have dsl availible in your area then whatever that isp provides for dsl speeds your line will handle it. Dont go dialup!!!

I would say that if you have a good phone company, then they should be able to handle anything.
