As a mom who has lost a child....this is one of my favorites:

I Believe by Diamond Rio

Every now and then soft as breath upon my skin
I feel you come back again
And its like you havent been gone a moment from my side
Like the tears were never cried
Like the hands of time are holding you and me
And with all my heart I'm sure were closer than we ever were
I dont have to hear or see, I've got all the proof I need
There are more than angels watching over me
I believe, I believe

Chorus
That when you die your life goes on
It doesnt end here when youre gone
Every soul is filled with light
It never ends and if I'm right
Our love can even reach across eternity
I believe, I believe

Forever, you're a part of me
Forever, in the heart of me
And I'll hold you even longer if I can
The people who don't see the most
Say that I believe in ghosts
And if that makes me crazy, then I am
cause I believe

There are more than angels watching over me
I believe, I believe

I know there's a song about a couple dealing with the woman's abortion and the emotions that immediately follow - "Brick" by Ben Folds Five.

--- EDIT ---

How stupid of me... how could I forget "Tears In Heaven" by Eric Clapton, which dealt directly with the accidental death of his son Conor!

Eric Clapton. I'm unsure what its called, maybe, If i saw you in heaven. Its about his son who died when a maid left a window open in a high rise and he plummeted to his death. Its one of the saddest songs ever written.

"Would you know my name if I saw you in heaven?" Try putting that into google and it will come up. LOL

Mariah Carey has a song on her Emotions album called "The Wind". It's about a young person dying and being at peace. I heard it shortly after my Godson drowned, and I immediately thought of him.
