Faces considered cute tend to be more roundish and baby-like. Pretty faces tend to be more angular, but feminine.
Cute can also mean almost pretty and generally attractive but not really gorgeous. It's like average-pretty as opposed to really pretty.
Examples:
baby-face cute: Mandy Moore, Jessica Alba, Audrey Tautou
pretty: Avril Lavigne, Rachel McAdams
cute but not that gorgeous: Christina Ricci (who actually probably goes more in the baby-face category), Jena Malone, probably alot of girls you know in real life...
There are probably better examples out there, I don't know my celebrities that well!

the meaning of cute is adorable but ugly...
a cute person has got to have a babyface...
either big eyes, small sharp nose, cute lips as in small lips...
and the smile is simply sweet....i.e, kate hudson or kristen dunst.
pretty would have to be someone that u look at and u instantly stunned by the beauty....
like high cheekbones, sexy eyes (beautiful eyes), full lips, (doesn't have to resembles a.jolie), someone like penelope cruz, monica bellucci, mischa barton, j.alba, or teri hatcher..
this is pretty and cute for me..it is so subjective....
beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

cute is the term I use for puppy dogs, kittens, baby.
i feel it is an insult to be called cute. i don't really like pretty either. just kind of a blah generic term. would rather be sexy or gorgeous.

When I think of cute, i think of flirty, girly, and bright. "pretty" is more "gorgeous", if you know what i mean. "pretty" = movie-star. but cute doesn't mean pink and ruffles, it's just fresh and sweet. pretty is sometimes more refined and elegant.

Pretty is when something or someone looks good.
Cute is when something that is kinda pretty, but you can "eat it up"
