I tend to like something like the zoo or a sporting event. That way, you automatically have something to talk about, and you also don't HAVE to talk all the time because there's other stuff going on. Much less pressure than staring at each other across a table in a restaurant or something.

Well, never go to a movie because you can't talk and for two hours you are not getting to know each other. If you are from Las Vegas and have a little money, how about Hugos Cellar in the Four Queens Hotel. Downtown isn't that great, but that restaurant is...wow. Or, pick the Summit in Summerlin. These are a bit pricey, but if you don't have much money just select a very nice restaurant where you can get to know each other. Check the RJ's Best of Las Vegas for some good choices. Go to the Bellagio and walk through the Covent gardens which probably looks wonderful in the winter, then find a place to have a drink, even non-alcohol!!! Go to the Venetian and take a gondola ride! Take a ride to Mt. Charleston. There's a restaurant in the hotel if you don't want to drive to the lodge. Or...take a ride to Bonnie Springs and visit Old Nevada. You can walk around then go to the Children's zoo and there's a restaurant there. You can even feed the ducks, while sitting on the bench and getting to know one another.

I say start at a coffee shop. This way if things are going bad or you lose interest you can end the date quickly, save money, and go do something fun. If things are going well at coffee you could then move to dinner, go on a walk in the park, or find some other activity where you both can talk and get to know each other. I don't suggest a movie because you'll sit there for at least an hour and a half without talking to each other. If things work out there will always be movies in the future, but you goal on the first date is to get to know the other person.

Although I don't see any reference to Las Vegas on the question, right after it there is a small, blue notation that says "in Las Vegas". I am therefore going to assume that is where you are located, and will address my answer as such.

I am guessing that you are high school age or around that period of your life because you are dating. (Many of us older people would like to be dating, but our spouses for some reason don't agree! ;-) I would therefore recommend Circus Circus, because it has a lot of fun things for young people to do in the arcade there. There is really no pressure to be a certain way there, couples are just out to have fun, watch a couple of trapeze artists, and eat some real good junk food while trying to impress each other - the major objective of a first date.

I have seen tons of young couples there on their first dates, second dates, and so on, all the way up to those couples of whom I just spoke who won't let their partners go dating without them. Spoil sports! ;-)

Anyway, that venue really is a great place to simply hang out on a first date, get to know one another, and have a good time. You can even win her a stuffed animal and show her your studly prowess by bashing something, throwing something, or shooting something! She'll be impressed and fall into your arms, helplessly in love! (And your sense of manliness will grow by leaps and bounds!)

If weather is good. I would got to a backer & get some fresh bread& some thing that would work will out side or make it my self. Then find a place out side or if the weather is bad. I would find some place inside .This will take a little time to put together .
If you don't have the time. try some thing like the Olive Garden os the like. Most have a lower or releasable price. Good luck.

Best place I ever went on a first date was a Van Halen concert. If you can wait until this summer, you could do that.

Dinner, drinks, and something active such as mini golf, pool, bowling. The zoo is fun! In the summer there is So much more to do. Winter sucks. But just being with that person is key. Movies suck cause you can' talk. Have fun!

It would depend on your interests What do you like to do?? What does your date like to do?? Local site seeing is great. It is surprising how many people go on holidays to see attractions but never go to your local attractions. Look in the newspaper or online for City events there maybe something happening that is interesting and different.

Go to the lake. Walk around, commune with nature, talk to the person you're with, and get to know each other. Get some snack food (chips, cola, etc.) to nibble. Keep things simple and relaxed. (Save the more elaborate stuff for later in the relationship.)

Well, this has been years ago, but I cranked up the old 1946 Ford coupe and took my date to the drive in movies, went to a shake shop and then went to lovers lane. I don't know about her, but I had a great old time.
