I dont like rap, im a metal person. but i found the older rap better, i mean, beastie boys are labled as the group that started rap, as they officially have the best selling rap album of all time, which is an 11x plat. better than any other rap group out there, Kid rock is kind of like beastie boys.

oh, i also like the bloodhound gang too. they are more of a humor group, but they arent bad.

check out some early Public Enemy. Being a Metal guy myself I can recommend "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" but I'm not as crazy about most of their other stuff. Anthrax thought it was good enough to do a song with 'em though. I also like N.W.A. and Body Count was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan, but I know a lot of people lump Run DMC in there too, so you might like them. Hope that helps.
